SCAC Baseball Podcast - Week One


On this weeks podcast we will bring you up to speed on the latest SCAC standings after a full slate of conference games – announce this weeks POTW, troll the Polls looking inside the top 25 plus take a look ahead to all the SCAC Baseball action this weekend.

The Conference office also had a chance to catch up with Birmingham-Southern right-hander John Naramore and Rhodes first basemen Brent Lindsey.

SCAC Softball Podcast - Week One

Coaches Corner; DePauw Prepares for NCAA Women's First Round Showdown Against Lakeland


After capturing the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title with yesterday's 63-37 win over Centre, DePauw (25-3) earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship and faces Lakeland College (22-6) in the opening round on Friday.

The teams will square off at Hope College's DeVos Fieldhouse. The other side of the bracket features Hope (27-1) against Denison (21-7). The winners will meet Saturday night for the right to advance to the round of 16.

SCAC Director of Communications, Russell Kramer, sat down with the head coach of the Tigers Kris Huffman and talked to her about her preparations and expectations headed into Depauw's opening round match-up.

Coaches Corner; Centre Prepares for NCAA Men's First Round Against Eastern Mennonite


Centre College, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions, will play at host Eastern Mennonite University on Friday, March 5 in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament. The Colonels won the SCAC's automatic bid with a 60-56 win over DePauw in the championship game.

Centre, 18-8, will travel to Harrisonburg, Va. to square off against the host Royals (22-4). Eastern Mennonite lost to Randolph-Macon, 82-80, in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals. The Royals enter the game winners in seven of their past eight games while the Colonels enter NCAA postseason play on an eight game winning streak.
